The Phoenix Club book
Hey everyone,
After almost five years of reading, writing, editing, embracing Scrivener software, arguing with Microsoft Word, and learning the Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing process, my book is available on Amazon!
The Phoenix Club: Stories of Addiction and Redemption presents true accounts of twelve lives that fractured at the peak of success: Frank Sinatra, Betty Ford, Maia Szalavitz, Tiger Woods, Whitney Houston, Bill Wilson, Samuel L. Jackson, Drew Barrymore, Marty Mann, Chris Herren, Rich Roll, and Dion DiMucci. Their stories prove that addiction can affect anyone, regardless of status, talent, or circumstance. Their paths to recovery required the courage and persistence needed by anyone seeking to rise from the ashes.
After years of writing papers and treating patients, I wanted to spread a message rarely associated with substance use – hope. I buried myself in books and articles about these 12 people, along with content on tragedy, success, pain, comebacks, rock bottom, redemption and other topics. You won’t be surprised to hear that I layered in some academic breakdowns with the biographical stories.
Throughout the book you’ll see callouts to videos that complement the stories. Find the BONUS VIDEOS at this link.
You can choose which book format works best: Kindle for jumping in right away, Paperback for marking up and sharing, or Hardcover with a slightly larger font that’s easier on the eyes. Get a copy of the book at this LINK.
If you grab a copy and enjoy it, please take a moment to share a review on Amazon so its message can reach more readers.
Addiction takes many forms, but it often begins as an attempt to ease suffering. Whether it has touched your life directly or indirectly, I hope this book offers insight and practical tools for facing life’s challenges.
Finally, if you want to share your personal story of rising from addiction, please email me at practice.of.wellness@gmail.com.
Thanks!
Martin
